Miami is a coastal city in Florida in the United States. As of 2019, the city had a population of 467,963 and a metropolitan area of around 6,166,488. It is the county seat and also includes Miami-Dade County. In addition to being one of America’s top tourist destinations, Miami is also home to many of America’s wealthiest people who have moved there from cities like Los Angeles and New York City. 

The city is also well known for its art and cultural scene. Miami is also famous for its Caribbean-like vibes with its beaches, sunshine, palm trees, and vibrant nightlife. However, it also has a powerful Latin influence.

1. Although it is not the largest city, Miami has the largest metro in Florida.

5. The name Miami comes from the name Mayaimi, a tribe of Native American people that lived in present Miami around the 16th and 17th centuries.

7. Another exciting fact; Miami is the only city in the United States of America that a female founded. Her name was Julia Tuttle – often referred to as “The Mother of Miami”.

17. The shopping is lovely in South Beach; you can find many designer shops like Gucci, Chanel and Dior.

18. Salsa dancing is a type of dance that originated in Latin America and Cuba and has become part of the culture in Miami.

19. Burger King first opened up in Miami (1954).
