George Herbert Walker Bush (June 12, 1924 – November 30, 2018) was an American politician, diplomat, and businessman who served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. He also served as Vice President under Ronald Reagan and held numerous public offices before ascending to the presidency.
Early Life and Military Service
- Born in Massachusetts and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut
- Enlisted in the U.S. Navy on his 18th birthday and became one of the youngest naval aviators during World War II
- Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery in combat
